The orange spot filefish is a very peaceful and docile filefish. They are a difficult species to keep, but as long as they are provied with docile tankmates and a proper diet (isopods, copepods, brine, mysis, rotifers) they can and do adapt to their captive environments. They are generally reef safe, but have been known to nip at corals. Due to its level of difficulty, this species is excluded from ReefPlayground's live stock guarantee.

The Tassled Filefish needs to be kept in a medium to large aquarium with peaceful tankmates. Feed a vareid diet which includes mysis shrimp, formula one, prime reef, plankton and krill. They are generally reef safe, but have been known to nip at anemones and can hunt small invertebrates such as crabs and shrimps.
